Book Poll

Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll, perhaps there are enough responses for some kind of conclusion to be drawn....or perhaps not and this is just for fun.

For the number one favored author amongst kundalites there is a tie. J.R.R. Tolkien and Robert Heinlein split the trophy. Interestingly enough, EVERYONE who voted for Tolkien also voted for Heinlein. Wonder what things the two authors have in common that makes them so appealing to the K personality. Or perhaps..........there is something about thier works that has a stimulating influence on K.

In second place we have...................another tie. Ray Bradbury and Arthur C. Clarke, two more spinners of prosy sci-fi thrillers and brain stimulating plots.

And in third place, we have still another tie. A three-way this time; Stephen R. Donaldson fantasy writer in the genre of Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and psychologist Carl Jung.

And in fourth, all by his lonesome this time, is David Eddings.

There were numerous other entries of varying styles and contents. So instead of listing all, lets just pick the top three catagories of works.

The most popular genre, as indicated by the top three sets of winners, was sci-fi/fantasy

In second, psychology.

And, quite understandably popular amongst the spiritually inclined, in third place were ghost stories and tales of psychic phenomena.

A couple of unique entries, considering the cutt-off age was 18, were Voltaire and Nietzsche. Hell, at 18 I couldn't even spell Nietzshe.

Interestingly enough, NOBODY voted for Tom Clancy.
