Subject: [K-list] Emotions, feelings,enlightenment

Every species of life has a combined life force( here I define life force as
the intellegent energy of all life as opposed to simple matter) imbued with
the knowing necesscary for procreation and survival and for imbuing matter
with life. I consider every cell within each individual of any species, to
be a living being which forms a cooperative alliance for survival. Each
individual within a species has the same directive, although in humans we
are blind to this fact by our devotion to only a small cultural group or to
ourselves.

First, one must expand into the human knowing, or oversoul, and then, if we
do not limit our being, we expand into the knowing of all life. All living
species have a common form of communication through feelings (this includes
the cellular level within a species and is augmented by hormone secretions
so that all cells are notified) in varying degrees of development.
All species are hard wired to respond to extreme stimulus or stress in ways
that support survival. Herein lies the conflict for the human who seeks to
evolve. If, through the life traumas of growing up, we adopt behaviors
which were the best answers we could devise as children for our survival
within our family, culture and/or environment, we created an independent
belief structure which stays with us into adulthood. Like the flee or fight
instincts, these beliefs will be the first we draw upon when we are
confronted or challenged in a way that we find threatening. (And here lie
the commonalities with the Gestalt and Gurdieff writings and processes.)
Clearly, the capacity to view one's beliefs and resulting patterns of
behavior in a dispassionate way is a crucial step in allowing and finding
our own path toward being. But the path is likely to be one of great
barriers and repeated challenges if the structure of the beliefs are not
de-fused. On some level, one's awareness must transform the old belief and
attendent feeling into something more fluid, or else we are forever carrying
the burden of the terrorized, fearful energy. And yet, ironically, some of
our most enlightened moments admittedly lie within the most traumatic events
(near death experiences, for instance.)

The emotions are the fundamental building blocks for behavior across all
species. But emotions are utilized by the expression of feelings. Feelings
are reactions to life events and one retains them through cellular memory.
This format is designed by the Life Force to recall significant emotional
events which become imprinted through stress and adrenal secretions for each
and every cell. This process prepares the body (or cell) for the next
trauma of similar nature, and a responsive, defensive act can be repeated
instantly. This knowledge can be and is passed on through to the next
generation by internal means (either DNA or the protein soup. Dominance
most likely going to the information of the most stressed, or in other
words, the organisim with the greatest survival information). Stress over
generations acts upon the DNA causing mutations and thus becomes the engine
behind evolutionary changes. Emotional healing is the surrender of this
emotional response so that the individual releasing emotions can react to
all life's stimuli without hinderance of auto- response

The next level of existence while retaining physical form is a level of
surrender to the energy of the Life Force. The ego no longer holds on to
any intellectual beliefs and the emotions have been freed. Personality is
no longer an influence as that which was ego is now a boundriless State of
Being, or expansion into the Life Force itself. An enlightened being, or a
human in a state of Being and Oneness with the Life Force, cannot be
contained within the limitations of languge. The experience of the
individual who is expanded and become the Life Force is one of tranquility,
light and pleasure, though these words are not in any way adequate.

For the person who has Become One, all life is experienced through the
feelings: beauty, pleasure, pain, but this person is unattached to those
sensations. The feelings are allowed to pass through the moment, are not
retained by the body, and total knowledge that all is exactly as it should
be in placid stillness becomes living truth. The individual can be aware of
his body, or expand so completely that there is no longer awareness of body.
Depending on the experince of the individual, and in direct proportion to
the power attained through surrender to the totality of the Life Force
combined with individual development of will and intent, all matter may be
manipulated. as in the power to manifest on the physical plane. (This
ability can be very dangerous if all aspects of human attributes have not
been healed, because every action is magnified as personal power.) Though
the energy of life is within the energy of the whole, or all there is, Life
Force is the intelligence, and all experinces in the divine are experienced
as that Divine Life Force. The ALL, ONE or WHOLE is accessed in BEING the
LIFE FORCE. So, even though the life force IS compassion and feeling and
that quality of love we experience, the All remains even greater as it
encompasses energy far greater than any feeling vibration.

The ocean is a fine example, for it has no preference to your life or death
and yet can be experienced as Love. All matter is subject to the divine
knowing and will and intent of the Life Force. The life force is all
knowing and that translates into the individual who has surrendered, and has
become All Knowing. The greatest challenge of an Enlightened Being is that,
other than the direct experience being shared with an individual as in
shakti pat, as Divine Love Compassion and Will, this Being must attempt to
create a path to the knowledge through interpeting it into language, which
has two major draw backs. The first is that of misinterpetation by
unenlightened followers, and the second is that there is no duality, and
words inherently create duality, in that, by defining what IS, they, by
default, define what isn't and this is not the whole truth.

Due to the difficulty of language, I define emotions as Chrystallized
feelings. Feelings are defined as uncompromised connection to the life
force. I know convention uses emotions and feelings interchangeably, but in
order not to invent a new word I choose to define a separation of the two.
Emotions, as I define them, are the cellular memory of high states of
feelings that are so dramatic they cannot be processed and instead, they are
stored in every cell of the body, or many cases, a particular area such as
the digestive system, heart, or solar plexus. When triggered by events
similar to the high emotional event that was not processed, unresolved
feelings, which I now call emotions, react with consistant responses,
regardless of their appropriateness to the situation. This capacity of the
body to retain reactions is a survival technique.

Example: A child is wacked on the side of the head with a brush for some
infraction, and the next time the parent picks up the brush the child ducks
before she has time to consider the circumstances of intent of the parent
(say, if the parent might have raised the brush to use as a brush on the
child's hair.) In extreme cases, this is called post traumatic stress
disorder, where the body completly relives the original trauma with an
ever-expanding number of triggers. Example: a soldier hears a car backfire
and hits the dirt. For a person who has suffered little trauma these
reactions to triggers are mild and not a huge life inconvienience, but for a
child who has been abused in a multitude of ways, they are unable to
function because their emotional reactions are inappropriate. Their need to
protect and defend themselves relentlessly interefered and stunted their
capacity to develop increasingly mature responses. Example: No matter how
proficient an adult who was abused as a child becomes in a job, they feel
insecure because they were punished for every infraction of an everchanging
set of rules, arbtrarily made up on the spot, according to the mood of the
caretaker. As the child grows up, they beat themselves up for every
percieved failure (to mirror the behavior of the perpetrator frees the
victim from random abuse... self infliction offeress a measure of control)
and cannot be happy with any accomplishment or skill level. No one hears
their inner dialogue because the voice is internalized. As an adult, this
pattern of self sabotage is recognized and the person may go into therapy,
but the person who had only mild chilhood traumas is still able to funtion
and believes these emotional quirks to be their personality.

Regardless of the leval of trauma, any person on a spiritual path of
enlightenment sees patterns of behaviour that are subconscious actions. If
these trauma events happen in adulthood, we have a memory of the events
intellectually and the process of finding the origin and allowing the
emotional pain to surface is not as difficult. However, if the trauma is
severe enough, the body's capacity to store and process the trauma is
stunted, and will recur in a profoundly challenging way. Once a pattern is
clearly seen and felt, and a self-awareness embraced, the emotion, or stored
feelings, can be released and the dysfunctional behaviour pattern stops.

Much more difficult is emotional trauma that has taken place as a child
before a full cognitive capacity is developed. In this case, the emotional
pattern of behaviour is the memory and the individual often struggles for a
long time to piece together what kind of events took place to cause these
habitual and no longer appropriate behaviours. The emotional pain might come
up time and time again and the list of events that trigger the emotional
action might well be very long. Here, the adult must become the parent to
his own inner child, and guessing at the circomstances that created the
emotion, one must respond as a loving parent, giving love and helping the
inner child form new patterns of behaviour throughself love and releasing
through crying, rebirthing etc.

Enlightenment is not only the raising of Divine energy through meditation,
prayer, or Kundalini. Enlightenment is an awareness of Being present in the
moment. This cannot happen if the individual is constantly living in past
events through emotional triggers or beliefs that blind the intellect to
other behaviours. In conjuntion with emotional healing, the intellect,
whose job has been to protect the emotional personality and justify through
rationalizations and beliefs all those behaviours, most also undergo a
transformation. Intellect (ego) sees healing or any other form of change as
death. Ego is horrified at becoming one with the whole and resists by
changing shapes and creating every possible diversion. Ego does not realize
that becoming one with whole is not a loss but rather a limitless expansion
of self, nor that becoming a tool of the soul offers a power far beyond
anything it experienced as an individual living in fear of death.

Ego becomes a servant of God/Goddess and emotions are transformed into
feeling with the creative energy of God/Goddess and the senstivity to feel
the pleasure, beauty and pain of the ONE. Healed emotions and intellect
allow for another important feature, and that is the art of non attachment,
essential for the individual to live in the present and not be consumed with
the intensity of feeling everything at once.

Kundalini has two distinct stages although for some they happen
simultaneously. The feeling energy of the life force, often refered to as
feminine, comes up the spine and pours into the intellect, supercharging the
individual's intellect and connection to what is commonly refered to as the
Akashic records, or the higher planes of thought, which can be interpreted
as words. Reiki uses the intellect's capacity to direct the energy of
light and matter for healing, but does not utilize the super brain power of
a raised kundalini. The other half of the kundalini is bringing the
supercharged intellect to focus on the emotional aspects of being, and
through this superconsciousness heal the emotions, thus allowing a free flow
of energy between intellect and feelings, and feelings and intellect;
feelings are then definable as the feminine or life force.

many thanks to you all this holiday
