Hi Hillary and all,

Just some thoughts on all of this, some comments.
Any replies welcomed.

My thoughts:
Isn't part of the problem just about lack of understanding of spiritual truth...whether in the individual, or the society as a whole? (Of course, this is shifting more and more now)

I mean, were the people who started psychology...or medicine, science, etc, enlightened? Did they know the ultimate truths? There was a problem to begin with, it seems to me, and so many get caught up in this dilemma because there's no recognition of the basic error at the heart of it. Compartmentalizing (splitting) our inherent nature by thinking parts of us could be separate (mind, body, biology, spirituality, etc.) would lead to creating diseases in that context of separation, that had no relationship to the other parts or overall whole.

I see all things as being contained within the spiritual (psychology, biology, mind, etc, etc.) not equal to it and not possibly separate from it. The error is in the thinking it so. The spiritual is like the soup that holds all other parts. When we think we can study parts without addressing the reality of health of the soup that contains it, then we've got a major problem. Or, an analogy, if we're trying to treat a fish (some aspect of ourself) that is ill by giving it medicine, but the river (the spiritual) it lives in and is its life's blood is polluted (misunderstood or misguided or rejected), what is the point?

I think we have to stop identifying with the separations we created and start addressing in context of the unity of it all and treat accordingly. I see people who are spiritually disconnected that start having these experiences and they think they are going crazy and want to shut it out instead of embracing to learn more, my heart just breaks. Without allowing themselves to turn towards learning spiritual truths so the differences can be discerned and a balance found, or being misled without, about what's happening within, another disconnection occurs, a further splitting off by trying to anesthetize the problem by turning away from it. Even if one thinks they are "God", it may be just the fact they are literally in that state of oneness, a literal merging with all, where there can be there is no perceived separation. If one understood this at the time it happened, or had a teacher to help, it could lead to profound awareness through that experience, instead of psychosis. There is no
separation, really. But this world is built on and requires separation and the illusion of it.

I can't help but think about what some modern day psychologists would do if Jesus' life was being played out right now, claiming he was the Messiah...do you think they'd still have any idea? Just another person to medicate and label, huh. Fear.

I'm also fascinated by the connection between so-called mental illness and
Kundalini awakening. It's fascinating that you became grounded through
surrendering the ego. I do think that is, in part the key.

One thing is certain--many people going through spiritual transformation feel
they might be going mad. Gersten mentions that the 19th saint Paramahansa
Ramakrishna once asked some spiritual teachers if he was losing his mind. :)
I suspect many historical figures such as Joan or Arc, many if not most of
the saints, Rasputin, etc were undergoing a kundalini type awakening.

What somewhat confuses matters is the fact that K awakening can be triggered
not only by following Eastern practices, but also by the experiences of
trauma, causing the medical professions to attribute kundalini symptoms to mental
illness rather than an expansion of consciousness triggered by the trauma.

hence I "heard God, spoke to God and
messianicly was God" because ego had no way of processing the
information that said All that is, incuding you and all other beings,
are God. It was only after journeying throughthe transformative process
initiated by k-awakening that I surrendered sufficiently to accord my
Heart dominance over ego (a process which continues) and which allows me
to remain balanced and stable without medication
