    Ah, everyone forgets, even though there is a reminder at the top of
every post. Even some moderators forget. Everyone but me... because I
translate email archives into web archives and spend hours every January
snipping people's posts.
    Members are encouraged to remind each other, via private mail... you
can send each other this polite note:


     Hello:
    I notice you reposted the entire original message with your response?
    Please don't do that again in future. This is a busy list, and
bandwidth is a valuable shared resource. Please, remember to delete all of
the post you are responding to, before posting it, except perhaps a
sentence or two to put your comments in context.
   I don't want to be censoring anyone, your shared thoughts are very
valuable to me. Without them, the list would not exist. The list thanks
you, for your consideration.

This criticism is not personal, this is simply a form letter I send out, in
my role as list owner, whenever I notice someone being careless with this
issue. Please do not take offense, and thank you for your co-operation.
