Hi Lyndon,

Several days ago I wrote a rather long and involved reponse to this post
and it seems the server ate it.

Hi Susan,

Thanks for your advice. I'd be very keen to attend your seminar too and
would like details of when / where / how much etc.

[Susan] Most of the stuff is posted on our website below. We try to keep
it updated as much as possible but we often fall behind.

I've realised, I have been diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive type) and
have
very low energy normally -- perhaps bordeline CFS! Awhile ago I ditched
my
stimulant meds, and at first I was doing great, but it seems I have
slipped
right back into the same rutt as before. A symptom of ADHD is high
stress
levels and the stimulant meds regulate this, so perhaps this is an
answer
for me.

Do you know if the stimulant meds interact with K at all? Is there any
correlation between ADHD and K activity? Anyone else on this list have
(psychiatric diagnosis of) ADHD and K activity? =)

[Susan] Since early active K causes an increased activity in the
endocrine system, particularly the kidney/adrenal system and causes the
release of adrenaline (epinephrine) I would think there is some
interaction but I have no proof other than empirical knowledge.

I find that many K people not only have ADHD and ADD but also
schizophrenia and bipolar disease. From observation I can´t say that all
people who have these syndromes have k awakening but there seems to be a
higher proportion of these in k people than in the general population.

Some very dear people on this list do have these problems and active k.

Be aware that artificial stimulants are needed when you own natural
stimulants are not present. So if you don´t have any to begin with when
you go off your meds there will be a return to the same condition
before. One must rebuild the adrenals and immune system. Continually
supplementing and bolstering your natural system with artificial
stimulants will eventually lead to exhaustion. For example, people use
caffeine when they need a pick me up. A nap would be more restorative
but alas, our society doesn´t often allow us that luxury so we end up
using more and more stimulants. No wonder we are so chronically tired.

Adrenaline is a hormone in the body. Hormones work on a feed back
system. The more a particular hormone that is present in your body the
less the body manufactures on it´s own. Eventually, your body will not
manufacture any or a miniscule amount and people become dependent on an
external source for their hormone supply. When the external source is
removed, the hidden condition that is a result of a deficient supply
comes roaring into our awareness, magnified, with all it´s attendant
manifestations and problems.

Healthy moderate living works best in my opinion.

Namaste,
Susan

Best Regards
L
