I don't understand harmonics but I hear harmonics 24/7. Like you, I first
heard them briefly somewhere in the sleep-wake state. Over the years the sound
became constant. The chord is usually somehere around d-sharp, f-sharp major,
occasionally shifting to a minor 7th. Sometimes loud, sometimes soft, but
always there. Wondered frequently what it was, but now it just seems normal.
