Dear Geri!

There is a tecnique called Yoga Nidra, which is easy to perform, and is also
considered to be very safe. I have recorded two myself, that I have online
for those that need it. You will find more information there.

I have put up two different versions there, one which focuses on the breath
and brings about relaxation, and a second one which works on chakra
awareness and awakening. It's not a very quick and drastic method though,
but if you've got some background with it, it should be ok. I'd recommend
doing the one with the breathing for some time first, to get used to the
practice.

Yoga Nidra is very simple. You just need to lay down on your back, make
yourself comfortable, and follow the voice! It is very powerful in itself
and brings about deep relaxation on all levels, and it can help awakening
your potential as well. It won't directly awaken your Kundalini, but it will
work you towards that end by balancing your energy pathways (Ida and
Pingala) and it works to slowly and safely activate the Sushumna passage.
It's important to work on Kundalini in a gradual and scientific way, or it
may get very rough. My own process has so far been very smooth, but I know
of others who have had one mother of a crazy ride! One that cause a lot of
unecessary disturbances.

Yoga Nidra is what I can offer to you, but aside to that, You could go to
www.kundalini-teacher.com and get in touch with Mystress. She is also in
this mailing list. Hello Mystress! =)

Anyway, I hope you find what you are looking for, though, be gentle and
don't rush anything!

With love
Gustaf

Hi to all,
My name is Geri and I am new to this Kundalini deal.

I am just about finished with volume one of the Teachings, by Chief
Little
summer and I feel confident that I can awaken the Kundalini through
aligning and
balancing the chakras.

Although, the book strongly suggests using a partner to get started. I
don't
know of anyone who practices this art of meditation and there for I
stand
alone on this one.

I am really glad I found this sight. I have read a lot on this sight,
so
thank you all for sharing your experiences. I understand that everyone
experiences different things when engaging in the Kundalini meditation.

Does anyone know of a CD or a tape with step by step Instructions so I
don't
goof up?
I am a little bit nervous. This will be my first time doing this, and I
am
thinking it would be a good idea to listen to some sort of audio to get
started, just in case I miss something.

Does anyone have any advise here for me?

Thanks to all from the newbie on the block!
Geri
