Subject: RE: [K-list] EFT / Kundalini protocol

In yoga we use something called Bandhas, psychic locks, which redirect and
release energy from the lower centers so it can rise. This is separate from
the practice of chakra work, in that the three bandhas work on the three
psychic knots we have in our bodies, there's one associated with Mooladhara
and Swadisthana chakras, which prevents the energy from rising beyond that
(usually associated with attachment to physical, instinctive and material
awareness) The second one is associated with Manipura and Anahata
(Attachments to the emotional and social) And the third one connected with
Vishuddhi and Ajna (Binds us to the individual ego awareness)

Part of the work in kundalini and kriya yoga is to increase the flow in the
different nadis and chakras, but also to slowly dissolve these knots. The
knots are directly connected to the sushumna (middle) passage in which K
flows when it's awake.

The best way to learn the bandhas is from someone with experience in Hatha
Yoga, or Kundalinia & Kriya yoga. They can be done stand-alone (Usually in
the beginning) Then you can combine all three in Maha-Bandha (great lock)
The bandhas, once learnt, can be used in various pranayama practices and
kundalini kriyas.

The knots, called Granthis are considered reasonably safe to work on
compared to the chakras, as awakening in the chakras appear to be much more
intense. But it seems that it's very important to dissolve these knots if K
is going to be able to flow smoothly, and in an "integrated" fasion.

I've read somewhere that it is the first knot that prevents K from rising
from mooladhara (the root chakra)

Through practice of bandhas in various tecniques, we can dissolve the knots
in a gradual and stable fashion. You may find as you are K awake that the
body sometimes performs these bandhas spontaneously also. Goddess knows what
she is doing. =) I keep experiencing from time to time spontaneous
occurances of moolbandha (root lock), which basically contracts the perineal
area and sends waves of energy (sometimes pretty intense) upwards. Even
though you can find these practices in the book, it's really best to find a
good teacher! They can be tricky to learn, if you want to perform them
correctly.

Anyway, you may already know about this, but I felt it appropriate to share
it to the list.

Sincerely
Gustaf
