Hi Terril,

Upon reading your insightful comments, I found myself considering some issues a little deeper. I am curious about your thoughts (or anyone else who cares to comment).

It would seem to me that within self-mastery itself, there are stages or levels, although there seems to be no distinction of this in the world of master/teachers (or maybe I am wrong here?).

For example, one may experience the truth and then be able to teach it to others who have not, but may not yet have fully mastered integrating that truth into the physical vehicle, which usually takes time and many further lessons. (Such as a master who smokes, using as example the comment Hillary (I think it was you) made.) Such a master still has not completely transcended all attachment, but is still a master who is able to assist many. Or, unknowingly, one may take on additional karma if not careful of maintainence work. In other words, the path of mastery itself is a path to be walked, with levels and stages within itself, not a place one arrives at and has no further spiritual work to do. Although they may be at a much higher level of consciousness than any else around them, now there are higher stakes. Until one reaches complete perfection upon which they would most likely leave the physical, one is still a student albeit at a higher level of awareness than mass consciousness.

Another side to this of course is the idea that consciousness itself is continually evolving into higher and higher levels, so there is no ultimate level.

You sparked some thought provoking issues.

When I spoke of "we are all students of everyone and teachers of everyone", I meant on an energetic level, we have to be both open to receive and give to keep from creating blockages. Also, if we are willing to accept that lessons can come from anywhere, it disengages the ego from boxing us in to its expectations. So yes, thank you for clarifying the differences in your post. It made me think deeper about what I meant by saying that. One cannot be a master without experiencing truth. However, we are all students/teachers of life.

Namaste,
Mara

In essence we are all teachers and students of life but we may not all
be Masters yet. By Master I mean someone that is master of him/herself.
What I meant by "true teacher" is somebody that has your best interest at
heart. not their pocket book or ego. And I do not mean your best interest
as it applies to a teachers specific belief system. A true teacher is
someone who knows truth. Knowing and believing is not the same thing because
knowing comes from experiencing our oneness with truth. When our beliefs
disintegrate before the truth of our experiences we are no longer bound by
belief.

A Master is one who is developed enough so that he/she can directly
communicate with the True Self to help guide the student in spiritual
development. This spiritual evolvement is to develop the student's own
inner communication with the True Self and highest Master so eventually
there is no need for a seeming outside agency for direction. Introducing
our lower selves to our Higher Self is the object of a True Master. I know
of Masters that would redirect a student to another Master with a different
system or method of awakening. This is not because the first Master
rejected the student but rather the first Master knew that the student
needed to develop specific areas of their personality and in differing ways.
A true Master does not say "My way is the only way" and he/she does not
disagree with other Masters. It seems only us students have disagreementsJ.

For those that develop psychically before they have built a foundation
from which to understand what they are experiencing they may end up with
psychosis, as is the case with some children when entering puberty. This is
the working of Kundalini in an undeveloped personality. Normally all
children experience the free flow of Kundalini thus they experience psychic
phenomena that the average adult is unaware of. When we enter puberty
certain biological barriers form to limit this power and for good, safe
reasons.

Many already spiritually developed people still have a difficult time
being around large groups of people as they are so sensitive that they have
a hard time shutting out all of the noise generated by the average human
mind and heart. This can make it difficult to keep emotionally balanced as
now the sensitive is also dealing with the "stuff" of others. Even worse,
for an aspirant is wondering into a subconscious delusional trap as a form
of escape or to fulfill a fantasy. If we develop our foundation before hand
it makes the journey smoother. at least that's my take.

All that said, I want to say that whatever path another person takes I
am not opposed, as all paths will finally converge. I can only speak from
my path as this is the only place I can know my truth. We all see things a
bit differently through the eyes of duality and I accept and respect the
sacredness of everyone's path. Om, Shanti, Shalom.

Love, Light & Peace
