I agree with you on this.
Those that start on

I disagree with you on this. All the people I personally know who are
already psychic have turned to some form of spiritual development.
One man I know freely admits that as a teenager he was a tearaway. Because
he says of the environment he grew up in and the people he mixed with. But
he was always aware of spirit, and eventually curiosity took him to his
local spiritualist church, where all the pieces of his particular puzzle
fell into place.
He says that if he hadn't been psychically gifted he would have ended up in
prison.
Because he wouldn't have seen any further than his environment.

Like Buddha, who told his followers not to practise clairvoyance until they
had attained enlightenment. The trouble is there aren't many Buddhas
around.

Yogananda.
Meditation *does* lead to psychic development. It's a by-product of
meditation. But not the goal. The goal is freedom.
