Subject: [K-list] Waking up screaming

Hello list!

I have written mails before about the 2-4 am experiences, but this one is
different, recurring and I haven't read about it anywhere else.

Basically what happens is that I go through a very deep, symbolic dream,
often more like visions. They are rarely frightening when I experience them,
most of the time I am just in a witness state, calmly observing them take
place.. And I usually am aware of that I am sleeping.. But when they fade,
and I know I am waking up, the really bizarre thing happens. When I wake up,
I scream.. Sometimes moan, but last night I screamed, on top of my lungs..
Startled my wife witless in the process. Even more strange is that I
usually have no problems falling asleep again.. I maybe lie awake for
another half an hour or so and then drift back asleep.

Why would I wake up -screaming- when there's nothing to scream about?
There's no big demon monster, nobody chasing me.. It's as if I scream,
simply because I am "coming back" or waking up? It keeps me completely
baffled.

The particular experience last night was quite interesting, so I will share
it while I am at it. =)
I was informed by some sort of inner guidance, that I was about to "pop the
membrane" and "move through the veil".. and that inside this membrane is
darkness, all my demons and fears and dark memories. First, I dipped my
foot into some sort of greyish.. goo.. And then I suddenly found myself
swimming in it, completely submerged.. While I did this, symbols flashed
before my eyes in an extremely rapid succession.. Can't remember all of
them, but it was pictures of desert, pyramids, flowers, eyes, all sorts of
stuff.. At this point I can't really remember any more, except that then
everything was black, and then I knew I was waking up.. First I heard myself
scream in a moaning tone, that kept going stronger and stronger until it was
a full blown scream! The first sensation upon waking up was as always..
"Why on earth do I scream so loudly?" Especially when I am not in fear..

Somehow, I know that these experiences are temporary, but I am still very
interested in any reflections or insight someone might have with this.

In love
Gustaf
