Hi Sue,

Yes, I concur with Hollie in thanking you for opening this conversation.
About letting go of need in relationships...I know this is something we'd
all like to do, just like we'd all like to be superhuman and above it all.
But in fact this body/mind/emotional complex goes through all the stuff
like hunger, need, bliss, contentment, anger, resentment, lust, on and on.
What you can get to is that you don't have to SUFFER because of all that.
You can just let it roll on. That involves rooting up identification with
the ego.

But anyway, I digress...the best way to deal with love issues (in my
limited experience) is to always seek to GIVE love, and don't ever worry
about GETTING love. The more you get the flow going outward from you, the
less it will back up on you (now I'm thinking of sewer pipes, yuk) and make
you feel week and needy. Giving love starts with breathing deeply into your
heart chakra, and then, as you breathe out, feeling your heart fill with
love from the Unmanifest (where there's an unlimited supply!) . After some
of this, you are ready to greet someone with a smile, or a pat on the
shoulder, and then it goes from there.

But I will say I haven't met a person yet who isn't at some point capable
of really annoying me. But that's life, and that's me, and if I let that
moment go without holding onto it, pretty soon I am loving the person again.

And finally I'll say that needing people is pretty human, pretty wonderful,
and pretty basic, and I wouldn't want to be without it.

Blessings,
David
