It would seem to be discussed in the Bible. The first part of
'Revelations' in the Bible(King James version quoted here) contains a
number of references to 7 golden candlesticks containing seven stars.

e.g.

: 1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I
saw seven golden candlesticks;
: 1:13 "And in the midst of the seven candlesticks [one] like unto the Son
of man"

 Stars in seven golden candlesticks sounds to me much like seven chakras.
when I was quite young, and before I knew of the existence of chakras, I saw
golden globes in someone in the places that i since discovered were the
correct places for chakras. It fits with the biblical description of them
being gold.
