    I have amitra for breakfast, then a late brunch if I want one.

    When the body is horizontal in sleep, the amitra pools in the back
sinuses and throat, hence coughing it up after rising. If you are
dehydrated it gets very thick and alkaline, and then it can be hard on the
stomach... especially as digestion of solid food is usually done by acid.
Drink extra water before you go to bed, and postpone breakfast.
