On the way up, K opens the lower chakras enough for the energy to flow
through, but does not clear all the issues or open them completely.
Traditionally, chakras are depicted as flowers, it is like how a rose opens
one petal at a time. Chakras being opened, and fully opened is not the same
thing, just as being awakened, and fully awakened are different places
along the path.
On the way up, you discover different aspects of consciousness. At some
chakras, most notably the heart and crown, you get experiences of
realization and the Unity of all things... so that you may know these
things for Truth, in your heart and mind.. but these experiences, while
life changing are not permanent. You visit the places but you do not live
there yet.
The trip back down, is about bringing the higher chakra insights down
into your physical, day to day reality. Two universes, the higher chakra
non-dual universe, and the lower chakras world of duality, individuality,
multiplicity. The light of the crown shining downwards to illuminate the
shadows in the lower chakras, so you may know Goddess is All.
On the road back down, you get challenging experiences that must be
integrated into the unity perspective. Going down, bringing the crown
chakra unity into the second chakra issues of relationships, sex, money,
power struggles, etc. These things are just too big and deep and muddy to
try to tackle on the way up. You need the support and faith of the higher
chakra guidance to carry you through.
Experiencing Goddess in meditation is one thing, seeing Divine Will in
Hitler, death, taxes, road rage and some dick's attitude... ;) is quite
another, and necessary to make the self realized state permanent. So you
can live there, instead of just visiting.
It is integrating the Shadow, seeing the Divine at work, where you
think She is not. For example, rejection is navigation. Goddess within
those who reject you, give you what you need to keep moving on till you
find the place where you belong, and keep you from settling for less.
It has been said, that the highest attainments are an act of Will. I
found this to be so. Kundalini takes you up, and if you choose to keep
growing and ask, it will take you down too.
You can find a lot of Gurus, spiritual teachers or whatever, who can
be defined as enlightened, because they have ready access to the higher
guidance, but are very scornful of the body, the pleasures and needs of the
flesh... they got to the crown, which is an out of body experience and
assumed they were done.
Easy to deny the body food and cuddles if you are not in it to feel
it's needs and desires... and of course if they do indulge then the focus
of attention pulls back into the body, which might feel nasty to them, if
they have neglected to release all the karma from it... especially compared
to the crown state . This reinforces their idea that sex will cause them
to "fall from grace."
Sex is not an impediment to enlightenment, it can be a rocket ship to
enlightenment. Just different paths.
Quite different to feel the body desires, see Goddess perfection in
them, and have no attachment to whether they get fulfilled or not.
As the issues of the lower chakras are cleared, the body get lighter-
en-light-ened. The body's vibration rises, and you migrate to living in a
higher chakra dimension of ease and bliss.

Eh, I seem to be in a writing mood today. On another list I have been

hmm, hmm, hmm... yes/no/maybe.
You make two assumptions:
1.) that there is an end.
2.) That the end would be the root chakra...
The center of the earth is the source of K for humans in linearity...
you feel it come in the root... and when grounded you feel it coming in
your feet, the soles tingle.
Depending on the will of the individual, it may not end at the root.
You may be drawn to clear all the way down to the fiery crystal at the
heart of the Earth, and from there, through the doorway to the Void.
This is the mystery: the grounding cord reveals itself to not be a line
between sun and Earth Heart, but a circle because both ends are doorways
to the infinite Void.
At this point, the linearity goes poof. Kundalini is not seen as
something that enters, so much as "I AM that."
I still practice the grounding, mostly when working in empathy with
other people, to assist the vertical flow in them. By myself, simply
focusing on my heart and power chakra is grounding and rapture.
Each petal of a chakra has different properties. One petal of the heart
holds the mystery of the infinite. The heart chakra is the source of the
"Still small voice" of Divine Guidance because the heart chakra has the
entire universe in it. Don't try to understand it logically... ;)
Think of someone whom you think is most evil... it may be a political
or historical figure, a parent or ex-lover. ;) When the heart is fully
opened, you can love them unconditionally, and most importantly, see them
as Goddess, a manifestation of Divine Will, perfection just as they are.
You may get a sense of the higher purpose in what they do.
It does not mean you need to do as they do, ... but when you can do
that with anyone or anything, then you can ground into your heart. The
heart cannot fully open so long as you think there is some thing in the
world that Goddess is not.
