Subject: [K-list] hallucinations

Hello to everyone,

A close relative of mine has been going through a rather difficult time for
the last 2 weeks or so. I am posting about it here, even though I strongly
doubt it is k related, but this list seems to be one of the most reliable
list I have come across.

I am interested if you have any comments and / or advice regarding what his
happenning to her : she is more than 75 years old, without any sort of
metaphysical beliefs. She is almost constantly flooded with what she calls
hallucinations : she is seeing women dressed in 19 th century fashion
clothes, walking right in front of her field of vision. One has smiled at
her she told me, others dont interact at all with her. They are just
walking, walking.. She doesnt recognize any of the figures she sees. She
went to the doc, took some medication. No effect.
It has come to a point that she can't watch much TV anymore : they crowd in
front of the TV set.

She is taking all this with a lot of self control. I am just worried how
she will cope with it all, if this were to go on for many more weeks. She
isnt into praying. I asked her "did you try to speak to them with your
internal voice ?", it made her laugh. The very idea that it could help her
to interact with them to ask them to leave, or just take it as a spiritual
manifestation or insight, is out of the question. She is a very down to
earth person with a great sense of generosity. I love my grand mother.
