Dear Rick

Many practices in Hatha yoga and Kriya yoga are based on breath retention.
The most important part of Pranayama is breath retention, inner and outer,
and are at more advanced stages used to raise energies at a very intense
level and still the mind, since the mind "moves" when the breath moves..
Kind of like creating a void, a vacuum for the higher energies, an
expansion.

I would recommend if you are really interested in this, to take up the
practice of Pranayama, and get to the more advanced practices.. This is best
done if you can find an experienced teacher to guide you through each
stage.. I've got personal guidance with a pranayama sadhana (Which I am
still gradually building up, and it has given incredible benefits both for
stillness of mind on a long term basis, as well as increased energy.. And
also, it has really helped in dealing with K related experiences, since the
energy pathways have become more clear and open.. Fewer blockages to cause
mischief.

Sincerly, and with love
Gustaf

Whilst meditating i've been putting more awareness into me, aka the
consciousness that exists between the breath. The breathe seems to
create
subtle ripples on the mind, so it's easier to focus more awareness when
not
breathing or inbetween breaths.

After doing this for a while I notice much more bodily energy and a
sense of
feeling refreshed.

What really interests me, is the technique of putting awareness into
that
space between the breathe. This is what i'd like to discuss because the

technique is extremely important and this directly leads to
enlightenment,
aka moving into a state of Being, or identification with this
consciousness.

Feel free to mail me off list, or on list, i'd like to discuss this in
depth. How do we put about this awareness into our consciousness, and
how
can this be improved upon, to give up ego-identification.
