An ego, for obvious reasons, doesn't get to experience egolessness,
whatever that might be...

But there are forms and degrees of "enlightenment", and the basic
experience/insight is to "see" the Reality within which "we" and
everything else exists. This doesn't leave us much reason to think
"well" or "badly" of "ourselves", but it doesn't make us anything else
than what we've "been" all along.
