Yes, the butchery of your poem was the nadir. . . .


and at the risk of further butchering ???

. . . . the ending 3 lines brought to mind the closing
line of a Rumi poem that goes like this:


" Intellectuals try not to drown, while the whole
purpose of love is drowning. "
