In addition to the other fine posts I'll add that I've experienced two
different kinds of no-desire states. The first recurs from time to time, lasts a
week or two and is not pleasant. I call it slash and burn karma clearing
because it feels like I have just shut down as a human being for the interim. When
it lifts I have much more light and clarity than before.

The second type is similar to the first but continues to this day and is
quite pleasant -- spontaneous meditation, end of seeking (anything), equanimity,
etc. After about 9 months of this, though, the whole world exploded in love.
I still don't have desire to do anything special, but instead everything I do
is special and I'm wholly involved. Instead of life being about becoming
someone or something, life is about drinking up what is here. The equanimity
somehow got changed into passionate love of everything. Holly
