That is an interesting question Morgan.

The ego can be very simply defined as all that which perpetuates the
feeling of "separateness" from God. The ego is the feeling of being
limited. The ego, says that I am separate, I came into being when this
body was created, and I will pass into nothingness when this body dies.
The ego creates duality, by looking in the mirror of life and either
feeling superior to what it sees there or feeling inferior.

Ask yourself, how can you be separate from yourself?

The yearning to know our true nature, the yearning to drop our
misconceptions and our misperceptions, can be seen both as a gift from
God and God itself.

In that yearning there is no feeling of separation. it is simply
what it is.

My words come out of my own experience and resonate within my being.

        Try this for an exercise:

For one month, every morning, either as you shower (and how
anyone can stand in a hot shower, with the water flowing all over them
and feel that they are separate from God, is beyond me, LOL)
and offer the following prayer/blessing/thought in your own
words.

            Dear Kundalini:
Thank you for today. Thank you for the opportunites that
today will bring. Thank you all the blessings you have bestowed upon me.
May I be open today to everything you have to show me. May
I look in the eyes of all beings and see only my very own self.

Personally, I add a few more statements, but those shall
remain personal. I think you can see the point of the exercise.

Do this for one month. Be steadfast.

In a month, ask yourself, if some people are lucky and some
aren't.

Remember, the kundalini is not limited, the kundalini is
always teaching us, always showing us.

You merely have to expand your understanding of how and
what the kundalini wishes to teach you.

For a very vivid explanation of what the kundalini does to the
ego, put on "Return of The Jedi" and fast forward to the end, when Darth
Vader throws the ego (ooopss meant to say the emperor) into the sushumna
nadi (ooopppss, meant to say the shaft) and the emperor perishes in the
fire of the kundalini. BTW, sushumna nadi is sanskrit for the main
channel of energy that corresponds to our spine. it's said that when
unawakened, the kundalini lies dormant at it's base.

Think about it for a second, if the kundalini can use even a
largely silly movie to teach us, what else might it do?

What does the kundalini ask for in return?

Isn't it funny that the kundalini only asks us to surrender the
ideas that limit us? For instance, our sense of separation.

In a month, tell me that there are "lucky" and "unlucky" people.

I think when I publish my autobiography, it's going to be called:

"Beautifully Sane, Insanely Beautiful, the life of the most
ordinary man imaginable"

       Take care.
