This is excellent intuition and surely it is from the overmind. 
Beyond the spiritual mind, there is an overmind. 
One opens one's awareness into this region through a golden lid above the 
head. 
Here, all the apparently contradictory ideas of our mental life, have their 
harmonious existence. 
This is not some ideal imagination, but an actual fact. 
That is why, the functioning of God is described as fearful, e.g., in the 
Old Testament and the Quraan. 
And also, that is why God is worshipped as Kali, the Terrible Mother, 
and as Narasimha in Vaishnavism, the One who is fearfully Loving (to His 
devotees) and 
fearfully destroying (to those pursuing the unrighteous lines of action)
