hi all and sabrina,

i haven't had the urge to reply to much of late
( it got a bit over the top when i was upto 70 unread postings
from the list as i was busy involved with other things )
... but no biggie.

this post however stirred me....

maybe it's because i'm manx or something....

this post may seem long and rambling, but that's me.... i just
like to take tangents from things just to see where i end up :-)

this island i live upon, the isle of man .... in some books is stated
as the spiritual centre of the british isles.... geographically a line
can be drawn thru the island from john o'groats in scotland to
lands end of cornwall passing thru the island....

... and the island's own geographic centre is also the site of
the original manx Ting Vollyr - "The Thing Wall" - an icelandic/
norse term for the place of government... to this day, our government
- the Tynwald as it is now known, is the longest continuous
democracy in the world.....

The old site of the Ting Vollyr is in a valley called, in manx, Boaldyn...
or "Beltane" to the pagans amongst us....

the month of may in manx gaelic is Mee Boaldyn - lit: Month of Beltane....

now, y' cant help growing up pagan with things like that in your local culture.... :-)

... the isle of man is one of few places in the world where christianity did not
over run the "ancient ways" - but merged with it ... the folk here a mainly christian
i suppose.... but they all believe in faeries and "little folk" of the woods ....

what was the point i was getting to? :-)

Bridget.... Breeshey ( pronounced morelike Breesha ) .... is common place here
in the island ....

for Laa'l Vreeshey ( Imbolc ) there is a manx song:

"....Brede, tar gys my hie tar dyn thie ayms noght. Foshil ee yn dorrys da Brede, as hig dou Brede e heet staigh"

or

"Bridget, come into my house tonight. Open the door for Bridget, and let Bridget come inside"

there is a parish ( i.e. a county, but we don't have counties here ) in the isle of man called
Skylley Breeshey - in English "Bride"
and 3 years ago - as I awoke to what we call kundalini - i lived in this parish.

not only that, but i lived at the northern most dwelling on the island, at the base of a light house,
in the most wind and weather swept point of the universe ( as far as it seemed )

there is something profoundly beautiful there.... i would come home from work, after driving over the
mountain from where i worked in the capital - douglas. and often the weather would be still. silent.
which is quite a rarity if you know anything about the weather in the north irish sea.

i got out of my car. the air was still. it was winter. crisp.

and out to the west i could see the dim lights of ireland flickering in the dark haze.
to the north i could see the coast of scotland. and to my east the harbour lights of
northern england.

and above me.... above me there was the lighthouse.... yes... this was a dominating symbol of
machinery.... but now... in the stillness it took an altogether different organic quality....

8 rays of light - 4 groups of two..... rotated from above my head like some giant wheel.... the spokes
radiated out toward those distant horizons.... the slow sweeping seemed to amplify the sound of the
great earth spinning beneath me....

so i walked further north - not that it was far .... about 100 meters... to the tip of the island.... here,
two great tides collided... meeting again since they separated 30 miles south split by this island
in the irish sea....

above me, the wheel of light tuned.... around me the air simply carressed me.... below me the
wheel of earth turned.... in front of me the playing water folded .... and inside me a wheel of fire turned....

it was, and is beautiful....

sabrina, i cannot alas answer your questions directly.... to me the timing was blurred.... but this
is just my story which i bring in response to your question.... i awoke in the year that this happened.

but a month or so ago, i was talking to my mate about some music i'm doing which he and his friends
are helping release through their small new record label.... he asked me when i was planning to have
it released by and do an album launch.... i said "I want to do it on Imbolc - as it means something
to me" .... i was ( and i still am ) as vague as that .... he, knowing me well - just smilled.

and a previous piece of my music that had been released came out just before i awoke
in the early summer of 1999.... and co-incidentally i had used a sample on the tune which went
"Vreeshey Vreehsey" .... which i sampled from a manx song which is an invocation to Bridget

anyway... thanks for the inspiration to think again of these things....

within love and peace,
martin.

Subject: [K-list] Kundalini Awakening and Time Relevance Poll

Hi everybody,

Last night I was sitting at my computer researching Imbolc for an upcoming pagan ritual, and I found something interesting. From
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/spiritwolf/candlemass.htm; 'Brighid's snake emerges from the womb of the Earth Mother to test the
weather'. Brighid is the Celtic goddess of serpents, fire, smithcraft, healing and inspiration. Some of you may remember me
posting to the list that my K awakening happened when I was briefly 'possessed' by the Serpent Goddess. Well, it actually happened
close to Imbolc, Feb 2nd in the Northern Hemisphere! I really don't know if this is significant, but it got me to thinking about K
awakenings and the time of year. So, if it's OK with the moderators, I'd like to introduce a new poll! :)

1) What was the approximate date of your kundalini awakening?

2) Which season did it occur in?

3) What time of day or night did it occur?

4) What was the weather like in your area at the time?

5) Did your kundalini awakening occur around any holidays (religious or secular)?

6) Do you think the time, date, weather or season has any significance?

7) Any additional comments?

Thanks!

Sabrina
