Hi Hety (and goup!)

Thank you for responding. I love to hear other people reflecting on issues
like this. It's an interesting topic that I'm sure we can only partially
understand in the state we're in. But that doesn't stop us from watching
and studying and trying to figure it all out does it?

I think some of what appears to be a difference of opinion on this subject
(karma) is probably partly due to what frame of reference or context you're
speaking from. For instance, I've gone very high up the meditation ladder
at times into a state where I perfectly understood your comment about "time
is not" or rather all timeline events happening simultaneously. I on the
other hand was speaking from the frame of reference of the incarnating soul
who quite obviously has to go to work today because the calendar says it's
Monday. It's really not possible for me to just pretend that it's Saturday
every day. But even more to the point, from my samadhi-like, timeless point
of view, even if I would prefer to stay in that very cool place
permanently, guess what? I'm here typing on my 'puter and once again,
obviously not to be found permanently in my heaven world (yet). I had to
come back here even if I would rather not. And that condition of "less than
perfect freedom" is another symptom of what I'd call Karma. I have business
back here, a responsibility, a seasons work to do. You could argue that
it's actually ones dharma or duty, not karma. But I think it's actually both.

I have worked and interacted with some Ascended Masters in my life. And my
overwhelming take on the difference between them and me is that they are
karma-less beings....totally free to do as they like. But God created them
with the same ultimate potential as me, which is resident within what we
call our Higher Self or I Am Presence. So why can they use, at any time
they like, the full potential of their Higher Self (which they have
actually completely joined with) and I am limited at this? Once again, what
I see is an actual physical/spiritual "weight" or substance in me which is
grounding me here and which is something that I have watched slowly get
slimmer and lighter during this life as I've made progress on The Path. The
name I pin on this phenomena is karma.

You:
When I use the terms "guilt" and "judgement" I'm referring to what, in one's
>specific incarnation is <defined> as right or wrong. Then, as it's defined,
>it's carried forward (?) as karma. Sin could be another word, besides
>karma. Guilt is perhaps an umbrella term that sits on top of sin and
>karma -- for what I've just defined as my understanding of karma. But who's
>defining good or bad?? ;-)

I'm with you there. I don't believe that human definitions of right and
wrong are infallible. And they change from century to century. But the way
it looks to me is that when energy gets impressed with a particular
frequency via the expression of an attitude or action, it just sinks or
swims as a result of an impersonal kind of law, like gravity. I guess
somebody had to calibrate that law though.... ; ) And if it sinks....well
you know what I call it.

You:
Obviously, I don't agree with the bank
>account example because that assigns time. Many times it's been said
>(where?) that love is the only thing that matters. For example, if you can
>look back and see, in a specific lifehood, what matters, the only points of
>light are the times when you loved. Everything else is simply nothing.

Have you heard of the term "causal body"? It is one of the 4 permanent
bodies we have. Maybe the term "bank account" is silly or inaccurate. But
there really is a storehouse for the substance of Love which, as you say is
the only thing that matters. I'd say that all actions done with love are
righteous and that energy is retained or "matters" because it becomes part
of our permanent record. This is unlike what we call sin, which is
impermanent and exists in these lower levels of being, which are also
impermanent. I think we actually agree here....

You:
Your explanation reminds me of the "black marks" on my heart my mother
>warned me about! ;-) I do agree that feelings such as GUILT, anger,
>jealously, rage, etc., create disease in our human bodies. However, I don't
>agree we "hop" from one incarnation to the next. I believe that it happens
>all at once and it's happened all at once. It's that our human pea brains
>can't handle "all at once" and time, as we know it, is slowed down for
>our...entertainment? understanding?

Yes, I think it's for the benefit of our experiencing the fruit of our
actions.

I've certainly done many things which I regret. But expanding ones frame of
reference can help you get past the (seeming) seriousness of it all
(another description of forgiving yourself).

The hopping from incarnation to incarnation is once again, just a frame of
reference. I'll probably stop regarding things that way as soon as I'm
absolutely free not to come back to these lower levels!!

Thank you for sharing your point of view and your experiences.

Boyd
