Hi Martin, Hi Lavina, All -

Beautiful posts! Martin, i loved the way you spoke
about the harmonies rising and falling, about the ebb
and flow, and balance.

Speaking for myself, i feel so very very alive in
Autumn.

It is as if the Earth's preparation for rest and
dormancy make me even more aware of life.

The rich moist earthy smell of the leaves on the
forest floor, the spectacular colors dressing up the
trees - golds, reds, oranges, even the browns are
Nature's pallette at her finest in my opinion. And the
muted greenish-greys of leaves coated in frost early
in the morning - the color of greenish-grey that only
appears in autumn...

Seeing the migratory songbirds passing overhead on
their journey south, watching the geese practice their
vee formations, swooping low over the fields before
taking wing for the winter.

The aromas from chimneys in the evening as people
light their fireplaces for the first time since last
winter...

The sheer physical sensation of crisp autumn air, blue
skies above with bright sunshine yet with a little
chill that tingles the skin...Every nerve ending feels
so very alive!

Making hearty fallish soups from scratch on a late
Sunday afternoon, how wonderful the aroma inside...

And in the early morning, while it is still dark and
silent outside, before the birds, before the traffic
on the road, before the sounds of neighbors arising,
just the one noise, the hum of the universe.

i love autumn... and not just for it's promise of a
long winter nap of rest and rejuvenation... and not
just for it's promise of the coming Spring and
rebirth...

i love autumn, with it's darkness and colors, just for
being itself... just the way it is.

:-)

love,
rita
