Subject: [K-list] Philosophical question
From: elargonauto

On 2003/09/01 14:58, elargonauto posted thus to the K-list:

I have two currents of thoughts I know are true ( or mostly true)
but I don´t find the way to join them together. It could be someone can give
me an idea.

The deep one ... some months ago I had a non-dual insight ( the only
thing like this I have ever experienced) where at a moment I could understad
truly that " Life and death are exactly the same". No difference, death =
live. I am sure about this. I know in reality there is no difference.

The other one, and that I usually express more. Is that we are part
of the whole, that hamony is reached through non-intervention and , as more
harmony more hapiness. ( In a short, :) ).

So if live and death are the same, why I still fell pleasure
living?, why I defend myself physically and mentally?, why I want to have a
free live and helps other got as much freedom as they can?. If life and
death are the same, where is the difference in being rich, poor, have food,
don´t have it, be happy, sad etc ...? Personally I don´t know how to fit it
in my daily life.

I know It is not necesary to understand it or anything, that the
solution of the puzzle will come ( or not) at the moment it just comes. But
I have always had the urge to undertsand things until everything is clear
and would apreciate any insight to solve this loose end. That I think (
after writing this, and reading it sometimes) that is the Loose End.

Here are some parts of a text of Chuang Tzu who illustrates the
idea of death=life.

'The Great and Most Honoured Master.'
Book VI: Part I, Section VI

                      "9. Tsze-sze, Tsze-yü, Tsze-lî, and Tsze-lâi, these
four men, were talking together, when some one said, 'Who can suppose the
head to be made from nothing, the spine from life, and the rump-bone from
death? Who knows how death and birth, living on and disappearing, compose
the one body?-- I would be friends with him.' The four men looked at one
another and laughed, but no one seized with his mind the drift of the
questions. All, however, were friends together."

Thanks to anyone brave enough to swim on this tricky theme. :).
