Dear Victoria,

Welcome to the K-list

Yes, K energy is unbelievably powerful, but it's interesting that it is the
horror stories that tend to stick in our mind. Bad outcomes do exist, of
course, but they are far fewer than what we are led to expect from all the tales on
the internet.
That doesn't mean, of course, that there aren't many frightening and
uncomfortable stages many of us go through. It's sort of similar to the stories of
bad trips with drugs--they aren't uncommon, but really terrible results are
rare. From the hundreds of people over the years who have found there way to the
list, I can recall only a handful of what I would consider disastrous
outcomes.

Yes, that is very young. There is one caveat I would give to people your
age...and that is that the experience can drastically change one's priorities.
This can be a positive or a negative thing for someone your age. My cousin's
husband gave up an academic career after receiving Shaktipat on a trip to
India. I imagine he wouldn't choose to return to that life, but he had been a
wonderful teacher, and I wonder, sometimes, if the world wouldn't have been better
served had he continued.

I first learned Hatha Yoga in the 70's when I was in my 30's. It had no
effect on me then, and HY only triggered Kundalini when I returned to it 20 years
later! I suspect that when the time is right it will come to you, if, as
Daniel said you aren't already K awake! :)) I do think that the breathing is
one of the main factors in triggering K.

You seem to have a solid head on your shoulders. I would simply suggest that
you proceed with caution!

Love, Hillary
