Hi Julie --

I don't think it is secrecy that cooks the ego, but frustration! The wish to
be known, the wish to be understood, the wish to be discovered are all
largely ego wishes, I think. It is my ego that compels me to answer the challenge
of the above statement. In feeling misunderstood, there is a little Ping! in
my self-regard. How I deal with this little Ping! will either reify my ego or
let it dissolve a teeny bit [the jury is still out on this one :)].
Disappointment is a teacher par excellence.

You are addressing the macro and I the micro. I, too, look forward to the
day when everybody knows we are One. In the meantime, the opportunities for
Pings! are everywhere, so much so that I wonder if sometimes we don't experience
God's disappointment and isolation.
