dear, nina, richard and tim,

it is not my intention to sound arrogant in
contoverting ur enthusiasm, for diaphraghm improving
excercises.
firstly as we all know,
the lungs in ur body are meant to supply oxygen to the
blood from the air. the fucntion of this is to provide
oxygen for combustion ( a process in metabolism) and
produce energy.which the body uses.
thus the lung strength and capacity of every man, is
subject to his necessity. i.e the demand for energy
his body places for him. ( which is by itself a
complex balance of chemical changes)
that is the reason u start breathing hard when u exert
urself physically.
it is not good to independently and solely concentrate
on diaphraghm excercises alone. this would create an
imbalance in ur system and produce side effects u
would not expect.
the best way to strengthen ur lungs is by
cardivascular excercises, where ur diaphragm
automatically improves in strength to meet supply
needs.
excercising in the gym, lifting weights, produces
effects similar to the diaphraghm excercises, and
increases diaphragm.( though lesser than the dia
exercises) and the result... hardcore gymmers are more
prone to cold and other respiratory infections. that
is the reason, it is adviced for people who gym, to
exert themselves by cardivascular excercises for at
least 45 minutes per weak, to balance the metabolic
functioning with the size of the diaphragm.

the reason behind this is, that when ur diaphraghm
increases in size abnormally, it is a logical
subsequence that there is a difference in the amount
of air u inhale, howmuch ever the difference.
this causes a condition known as
hyperventillation, which will change the normal Carbon
dioxide to Oxygen ratio, along with others like the
natural steroid content in the blood.
this is a serious criterion for the development of bad
immunity to respiratory infections. which could also
lead to bronchitis.
people who develop this condition, do a certain
excercises called "Eucapnic-Buteyko excercises" which
reverses this process by exhaling more than inhaling.
and is almost opposite to the diaphragm improving
excercises.

like the bonita latina elargonauto said, it is not
advisible to mess around with wot u r naturally
provided.
ofcourse it is your body and not anybody else's
concern. so u ought to make the best decision.
so i hope u have no hard feelings about my uncalled
for interrupting contravention.

A.
