This is a forward from A the_pill to Mark

***********

can see what u mean, mark.

about the tibetean monks, they are people who take up ascetecism as a means
to spiritual quest. social man's natural tendency is to indulge with his
senses. and when the mind is weak, and sensuality strong , cloistered life
will help
u from *acting* distracted. not actually being distracted. that is why,
satsangha is given so much importance, when ur company and the surroundings
will
*convince* u with diminishing sensual needs. because when one is in the
realms of maya, it is better to obey its rules and use maya itself to
destroy
it.

the greatest sages live the most mundane lives. for them they need no
external pampering. they do not run away, afraid of getting distracted. they
stay
where they ought to, without any change in their lives. do what every other
man does, and still be independent of maya.

sexual abstinence and seclusion are of different origins and for different
purposes. as i have said, once u reach the breathless , u start ur actual
effort
with the absolute. nirbikalpa samadhi, provides u an oppurtunity to be
free from dependence on ur body and senses which define the self as u see it
through maya. free from this veil, u start efforts to see the infinite. the
very
nature of nirbikalpa samadhi, is that u will feel an aversion to sex.
normally. because then, that is how ur body functions. u r no longer
dependent on ur
body for any satisfaction, u r independent of aham-kar ( I-ness). further in

development , will make every part of ur body under ur control. and then u
have
no aversion to anything. nor passion for anything, u reach sthitha-pragya,
the state of equanimity, with everything.

there are times when u are in need to be in the meditative state for not
hours, days or weeks, but months years and decades, which u would not be able
to
if, dependent on the senses ( that is why u need to learn the breathless
state,
where ur body sustains itself on the cosmic energy, and ur body remains
immutable). and the process needs to be complete without disturbed or
distracted
all the time. if at all u did get disturbed, u would have to start from
scratch. that is why seclusion was necessary. nirbikalpa samadhi is but the
begining.( that was what i felt!).

jesus christ was in samadhi. when he was crucified. he was not dependent on
his body for survival. that is why, the roman soldier, to test whether he
was
dead, and make sure that he was, thrust a spear into his thorax. and he then
was convinced. little did he know about jesus's qualities....it is also
important to notice that, jesus did not use his powers to bloat his ego at
all. we
all might think that if he was so close to the infinite, then he should have
just overpowered his detractors. but as he knew, better than all of us put
together, that there is a divine plan....... an enlightend soul does the
right
thing, he just let himself be undone. and that is y he said " do u think i
cannot
call to my father to send me 12 legions of angels? but,,, the scriptures
must
be fulfilled."

modern day saints build monastries in seclusion either out of convention or
for the reason i described above.

the greatest sages of india were all married. and all have children. the
brahman caste has something called the "gotra" which tells about his descent
from
a particular ancient sage. ( which does not necessarily mean that he is
anything near the great sage)

incase i have made any misinterpretations, i would be, delighted and obliged,

to be corrected. for i am here for truth and not the other way round.

untill soon,

A.
