That book was by Michael Crichton wasn't it? -- the guy who wrote "Andromeda
Strain" (among others). I read it many years ago as well, and remember
thinking how awful and boring it was -- one psychedelic fish scene after the
other. (how many electric blue cods and paisley sturgeons are necessary?)
I just figured, oh well, I guess Crichton discovered LSD or magic mushrooms.

Yes indeed. With the symbolism it actually makes sense and has a point.
Duh. I guess I wasn't receptive to it at the time. I expected another
simple sci fi action book.

Where'd you see the movie? Is in on videotape, TV, theaters... ?
