Since there are so many different types of Yoga (Hatha/Physical,
Raja/Mental, Bhakti/Devotional, Gnana/Knowledge, Karma/Action, ...) not
all Yogis would necessarily do running as part of their spiritual
practices. But within Hatha Yoga, and other types of physical Yoga,
there are students/teachers who have running as part of their Yoga
practices, but performed in a Yoga manner. We ourselves have
special/unique set of "spinal twist jogging" exercises. It gives good
spinal massage, heart exercise, and breathing exercise. When I was
young, I ran around the Yoga Centre 108 times, mainly as a demonstration
to myself of the power of Yoga. (Most people on the course at that time
were amazed and impressed.)

Do you want to know the secret stories? Yogis have developed running in
terms of speed and endurance to the extent that that they can run at
30-40 miles per hour and maintain this for several hours/days. In my
previous post I recommended anyone to apply yoga to their favourite
sport (or even any ordinary daily activities) and those sports (or
activities) will become much more enhanced. Yoga Masters can go into a
trance state and run indefinitely at high speeds. [Note :-) This was
perhaps useful before snail mail and e-mail!!! :-)]

My knowledge is not only from books, but also from Masters and other
sources. Even in India or UK it is difficult to find certain types of
knowledge. For example: What is the main physical difference, between
animals and humans, that causes disease/illness/sickness? What is the
most important thing in the world (surely not food)? Why are the
classical Hatha Yoga exercises not suitable for the ordinary people of
the world? How can an ordinary person get the same benefits as a Yoga
student without spending too much time, money, effort, or other
resources?
