Really you don't need to say jokingly or apologetically that Jesus is your
guru. That's what he was/is. He is the epitomy of The Enlightened Master.
Ravi Ravindra explains in "Christ the Yogi." This book lends a Hindu
interpretation of the Gospel of St. John, in which I found many truths.

Of course Christ was a mystic -- and much more. However, I don't believe if
he'd be here today he'd approve of the term "Christian." That wasn't the
point...I don't think.

I came from a
Christian background and unlike many explorers when the spiritual dimension
started to open in my life I went back to 'Christ' for my path. I half
jokingly say to my self 'Jesus is my guru.' So many people look down on the
christian religion because of its many doctrines that only serve to separate
us from our brothers and sisters. But when one reads the Words of Christ
with the mind of a mystic you realize He was constantly dismanteling the
doctrines of the day.
