I have noticed a fair amount of intellect bashing. A few times when I
have raised a point I was told that I was intellectualizing. That seemed
to be the ultimate rejection of anything I said. It felt like a
convenient way of rejecting an idea without justification. "I can't
argue the point so I will reject by calling it intellectualizing."

I would like to speak out in support of the use of intellect as a tool
toward enlightenment. I hope to show that is not intellect which is the
problem but, in fact, laziness of intellect - accepting without
questioning that is the problem.

According to my trusty Oxford dictionary, intellect is the (1a) faculty of
reasoning, knowing, and thinking (1b) understanding. I think this
accurately defines intellect. I searched dictionary.com and the results are
variations on this theme.

What I'd like to know is how anyone can even live without using their
intellect. That would be like living without using emotions. A human brain
comes powered by intellect. Where there is no intellect, there is no
thought. Even a simple thought -- "I have to eat today." -- employs the use
of intellect.

-My opinion-: Everything contained/existing within (or around, as with our
energy) our bodymind is there for a reason. We have livers for a reason, we
have noses for a reason ... and we have brains for a reason. Our brains are
not just there to power our bodies ... they power our bodymind. If humans
have the power to think, to give it up in favour of what?! ... to me, well,
I don't get that. Nature (or God/Goddess/whatever) doesn't make mistakes.
If we have something in our bodymind, it's there for a reason. Deciding
that human intellect isn't necessary, or can eventually be discarded, is no
different than deciding human emotions, human livers, human whatever ...
aren't necessary. If Nature/God/Goddess/whatever didn't intend for humans
to use intellect ... humans would not have the option.

Of course, using my argument, one could argue K energy
isn't -necessary-....*smiles*
