And I just have to tell everyone about it. I am telling this story, and sharing it with everyone in the hope of inspiring credence in yoga meditation as the next step in Christianity.
>Before I got into the teachings of Self-Realization Fellowship, around 1990, I read a certain occult book on meditation entitled "The Perfect Marriage" written by a Tantric Yoga Master named Samael Aun Weor. In it, I learned a few meditation techniques. One meditation technique that I learned was for the purpose of raising the Kundalini Energy at the base of the spine. The technique is as follows: Lie down flat on your bed with the back straight, and now, look up, and concentrate your vision up and in between the two eyebrows. In your vision, this is where the two eyebrows seem knitted together. Now, place your thought or attention, at the very base of the spine, while keeping the sight fixed at the invisible third eye that Jesus looked up to whenever He looked up to "Heaven". Now, exhale all the air out of your lungs until they are empty. Now, slowly inhale through the nostrils, with the attention locked on the base of the spine. As you breath in, imagine that your breath, like a vacuum cleaning tube, is sucking up your spine a bright blue liquid light stored at the base of the spine. Imagine that this bright blue liquid light is rising up the spine in synchronicity with the inflating lungs. As you are breathing in the air, you must visualize that you are raising, or pulling up this energy with the suction of the breath. You want to imagine that it is rising up through the spine as you are inflating the lungs. You must imagine that your spinal cord is as a tube, and that this bright blue liquid light energy is rising up it, being pulled up by the vacuum of your breath, and should rise up through your back or spine, up through the neck, and right through the center of the brain and directly ending at the point between the eyebrows where your eyes should be focused. You should then hold your breath for as long as it is comfortable to do so, at the same time visualizing that this energy is rushing up the spine, and from every nerve in your body, and even through your eyes, like electricity, and being stored in the pituitary gland like a battery being charged. When you can no longer hold your breath, slowly let it out, maintaining the sight fixed at the spiritual eye as long as you can. And then repeat this procedure as many time as you can. If you get tired, you can lower your vision and take a rest, you don't have to strain yourself. Here is the story of my astonishing experience: One night, before going to sleep in my bed, I was determined to get a result, and did this technique for about two hours straight. I didn't get any results that night, (nor any day before this either), so I just went to sleep, bored and discouraged. The results came in the morning after I woke up. This is what happened. After getting out of bed, I went straight to the coffee table with my wife to drink a cup of coffee as I do every morning before starting the day. I had been awake for about 45 minutes, when this experience occurred, so I know it wasn't the result of being groggy or anything and I wasn't hallucinating either. I was sitting down at the table, and closed my eyes and just stretched out, and yawned as most people do in the morning. What happened when I opened my eyes, ...changed my life forever. ...I opened my eyes, and to my astonishment, I beheld everywhere in my vision, ...on the ceiling, ...and in the air in front of me, ...literally hundreds of incredibly brilliant, bright blue shooting stars! They appeared to be in essence, a liquid light. They where flying around in circles, darting to and fro, and shooting all over the place! But only I could see this. My wife was oblivious as to what was happening to me. I still saw the room and everything in it as normal, but there were all of these incredibly bright blue, lightening in color, shooting stars all over the place! This experience lasted about thirty seconds, but believe me, I had never seen anything like this, in all of my thirty years of life before that day. It was almost indescribable. But It proved to me that this energy does exist. And it is the key to the next step in Christianity, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised would occur to those who sought God, or Wisdom, ie., knowledge ie., the Kingdom Of God Within You, Luke ch.17.
>Now, I am with www.yogananda-srf.org or Self Realization Fellowship, and practicing it's techniques, ...which are much better than the one that I just told you about. But the one that gave me this experience, that I just gave to you, ...is enough to prove to any Truth-seeker, if practiced earnestly, the validity of the existence of the inner kundalini energy that is in us all at the base of the spine. It is the energy of creation. It is the energy that builds the elementary particles of all the atoms in the universe. The magicians who competed with Moses in the book of Exodus knew about this, that is why they had magical powers. The magi who visited Jesus at his birth also knew this, that is why they were called the "Wise men" or "Magi" which is short for "Magic." But, of coarse, God's power is greater because He is the Creator and the Almighty. But Jesus said many times in the Bible that we could be like him, spiritually. But we have to work at it through meditation. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking that you will receive power any other way, not unless of coarse, you are born with it, as many great and evolved souls are, who choose, or are sent back to earth by God for the purpose of leading others to "Righteousness" (Daniel 12: 2 & 3, this is what John Lennon meant in his song "Instant Karma!," ..."We all shine on, ...like the moon, ...and the stars, ...and the sun."
