Only today, I have sent off 54 (yes, fifty four) CVs, specifically targeted
for IT Security positions. It was depressing to see how quickly the
"Excellent CV, but no vacancies..." responses came back. Another few
weeks and I will definitely crack. But why wait? I'll just go crazy
now...

Hi Bhavin -- I can empathize, to a certain extent, although my problem was
attracting clients, not a job. Works out pretty much the same, I think --
financial challenges. Nevertheless, I don't think going crazy will help
your job search much, though. *laughs*

Recently, the owner of the clinic I work out of bought myself and the other
therapist each a book, entitled "Attracting Perfect Customers -- The Power
of Strategic Synchronicity", by Stacey Hall and Jan Brogniez. They have a
website: www.perfectcustomers.com which will tell you more about it. I
know it's working for the clinic owner -- she's always busy.

The analogy they use works really well for me -- that of a lighthouse. It
stands still on the shore, waiting for ships. It doesn't run up and down
the beach, trying to get the ships' attention. This book came to me at a
perfect time, of course -- I've been stalled in my practice, and the number
of clients I have was actually dropping. Given I have two extra mouths to
feed, that wasn't acceptable. I've just finished doing up my "strategic
attraction plan", and I feel very positive about it. Already, I've booked a
new client for this week; first new client in awhile.

Another thing I've started doing recently is affirmations. The clinic owner
suggested 15 is a magic number for repeating them, so that's what I do. And
I've heard that thinking something has a certain power, saying it has even
more, and writing it has the most -- so I spend time each day writing my
affirmations out. Sometimes I only write them, say, five times, and then
say them aloud 15, but I think it's still all good. Something like -- "I'm
grateful for and accept all the cosmic riches I'm attracting right now."
I'm sure there are many explanations as to why such a thing would work, but
I think it's more important that you truly believe and -know- it works.
What's funny to me is that only a few years ago, I would've laughed long and
hard at the thought of it, let alone believed it! Times change ...
fortunately, so have I! *smiles*

Anyways, I hope some of this helps you. And I've just done an affirmation
for you ... 15 times. *smiles*

Have a wonderful day!
