All right, since I've been encouraged by a moderator (who had already heard it) to post my dream to the list, here goes. Keep in mind that I am by no means a student or devotee of Kali -- this dream was completely unsolicited!

It started out with me and my dad and my step-mom out sailing.
It was a nice boat, and a nice day, and I was getting a tan...
but then i suddenly realized "Oh No! today is Tuesday, and I have a TON of things I need to do in preparation for my trip on Wednesday."

Real-life trip. Real life concerns. I really do have a trip planned. I really did have a lot I needed to do on Tuesday.

I fretted about that for a while, and then I told myself, "Oh well, I just have to remember that this is a dream, and when I wake up, it will still be Tuesday."

But i couldn't relax with it. Had to keep reminding myself. I went at one point and looked at a bus schedule to find out when i could go to Katy from Galveston (TX, where we apparently were) so that I could get back (to Sweden where I live) in time for my trip. I was really stressing about not getting things done.

Then, we were just sitting in a slip in a marina.
Yachting.

Suddenly, my mom was there, and a bunch of her old work friends were showing up.

Pretty soon it was standing room only, so to speak. we were elbow to elbow sitting around the boat.

and then it was nighttime . . .

it was almost like a shamanic thing... ceremonial.... that was the kind of atmosphere.

I was smoking a pipe. It was shaped like a snake. There was another wooden object that interacted with and reacted to the snake, but its shape was sort of abstract, and I can only remember general details about it.

The snake grew very large and very long -- six feet at least -- and was sort of hovering in the air in front of me, as though it might be filled with helium or something (waking-mind comparison, that).

It was glowing in the mouth with whatever it was I was smoking.

At one point, someone came over, a man, and thrust the head of the snake towards the ground. It just floated right back up.

At this point, I looked over to my left and saw a human-like figure. it was motionless. a statue. black. hidden in the shadows. but it had many arms and was surrounded by obscure objects. i was curious about it. not afraid. it seemed normal that it was there.

shortly after that, i woke up and started my day.

it wasn't until a little while after i'd been up, and remembered the dream, that i realized the significance of the many-armed statue.... The name Kali popped into my head, but i had to go look it up on the net before i was sure.
