Hillary,

I read this article but was not very impressed with it. For example,
there are at least two errors in just the following sentence:

"In addition to Vedanta, another branch of yoga that has many
similarities to chiropractic is kundalini yoga, also known as raja yoga
or laya yoga."

The mention of "a chiropractic adjustment can be looked at as instant
yoga" reminds me that my teachers often noted that everyone nowadays
usually want a quick path, probably a bit like instant coffee where you
can just add hot water to get a fast drink. However, a sure and steady
approach is superior. Swami Dev Murti Ji said "when you are quick, you
get the kick". Also applicable is the proverb "more haste, less speed".

There are also several other errors but it is not worth the time and
effort required to discuss all of them. I personally find this level
and quantity of errors very unsatisfactory for an intellectual article
that should have been better researched.

The Yoga system that we teach has a sequence of spine chord exercises.
There are at least 8 such sequences, called "Crocodile Exercise
Courses". Even 40 years ago these were described as "auto-chiro-praxis"
in Germany and simply "back exercises" in England. Therefore, one
learns to work on oneself rather than relying on (and hence becoming
dependent on) others who may not always be available.

Bhavin.
