This is the first verse, or whatever, of YKU:

hetu-dvayaM hi cittasya vaasanaa ca samiiraNaH |
tayor vinaSTa ekasmiMs tad dvaav api vinashyataH ||

Vocabulary:

hetu-dvayam "reason-couple"
cittasya of mind
hi certainly?
vaasanaa subtle desires
ca and
samiiranaH vibration of praaNa
tayoH of those two
vinaSTe in controlling
ekasmin in one
tat those
dvau two
api also
vinashyataH are controlled

(N.B. in the vocabulary sandhis are resolved,
that's why the words in the vocabulary differ
slighly from those in the actual verse.)

Swami S's translation:

3. Chitta has two causes for its existence, viz., Vasanas or subtle desires and the vibration of Prana.

4. If one of them is controlled, the result is, both of them are controlled.
