Kaballah and magic, yes I suppose. It is pretty derivative tho.
Kaballah itself is Hebrew, and the Golden Dawn drew on it, and Masonic
magic which in turn was drawn from western interpretations of Egyptian
mysticism.

Well, aside from the terminology, mixing the energy of above and below
is common to many systems, particularly Tibetan Mysticism. Perhaps Kurt
Keutzer can comment on that, if he is willing to come out of lurking... :)
Nice that some old members are being drawn back to the list since it moved
from yahoo.

I would say, mixing western free will based magic and Kundalini is not
a particularly good idea... trying to use Shakti for ego based purposes
will usually result in burnt fingers. However, it seems pretty typical for
Westerners to be first drawn to a free will based system, like Ceremonial
Magic or Wicca, to gain faith and let go of cynical programming about the
non existence of magic and miracles. If these experiments result in
awakening, then the free will systems turn upside down and backwards and
must eventually be abandoned in favor of unconditional surrender to Shakti.
That is the typical pattern of top-down awakenings, and indeed the goal
of most degree based mystery schools.

You got where you needed to be. :)
