RK Shankar Ji,

I read Aurobindo a long time ago, when I was a teenager. Reading the
intellectual works of Aurobindo (Krishnamurti, Vivekananda, etc) was
quite hard going for me at that time. However, I did persevere, even
though I did not fully understand everything at that relatively young
age. The interest in Yoga was probably an accumulated karma from
previous lives. I did start Savitri, but could not continue with it. I
had a quick look again just now, but I don't think I could read it. It
does not appeal to me. The classical texts recommend to take a path (of
the many that are available) that is appealing to ones own character and
circumstance. This ensures that one will continue with it successfully.

Swami Dev Murti Ji has instilled in me a sense of practicality, in fact
his Yoga is referred to as Yoga in Practice (also Yoga in der Praxis in
Germany). I therefore tend to avoid overly abstract or theoretical
discussions, although I can and sometimes do rise to the challenge if
family/relatives/friends require it.

Bhavin.
