But to a certain extent you have to go through the same thing or something 
even remotely similar. Even then I'm skeptical of empathy, unless it is a 
true energetic empathy.I'll give you an example. When all my female friends 
were pregnant (at various times, of course), they would complain about their 
raging hormones. Now I *thought* I understood what they were going through, 
what with all the menstruation hormones and all. Last year I was actually 
pregnant myself and it is a whole 'nother ballgame. I had *so* 
underestimated the power of those little chemicals. From that train of 
thought, I find it completely silly that a man who has never felt these 
chemicals could have anything other than a mechanical understanding of what 
is happening. Sympathize, sure. Empathize and understand? No. 
 
I don't even try to pretend to understand testosterone.
