 Dear Sabrina,

You asked:

*sigh* Would returning to a Goddess-based society really be any better? Does
anyone have any proof of this? I mean, maybe patriarchy happened for a
reason. Maybe men felt that they were second-class citizens in these
so-called matriarchal civilizations?

As far as I understand, Genesis et al was written by men. Probably older
men with long gray beards. (Our current Eastern idea of "God") But there
was a "pre-Genesis" where the society was actually a matriarchal one. So
why did this change occur, to basically repeat your question. And would it
be better to be in a matriarchal society? Who knows? But in terms of what
our patriarchal society is built upon today, I would say that one answer may
be "fear." Fear and separatism.

Perhaps someone might help interpret the Hindu yuga system, and how does it
play on the cycles of male vs female societies? It seems interesting to me
that Jesus Christ was born at nearly the darkest part of the Kali Yuga (500
A.D.) and how did that change any kind of thinking on this earth? Perhaps
new thought systems are introduced at various times of darkness to take hold
with only those who are "chosen by God/dess or the Holy Spirit." Jesus
never distinguished between male or female, in fact, in the Gospel of St.
Thomas, Jesus "makes Mary male." Not by supplying her with a penis, but by
giving her the education of a male in times when females were forbidden an
education.

For anyone who's interested, there's an extremely interesting and
captivating novel written about female society -- and female menses --
during the times of Genesis. The book is called "The Red Tent." The red
tent was a place where women went during "their time of the month" and was
the basis of where female politics, diplomacy and intrigue originated.
Well, at least according to Anita Diamant, author. Here's a link to Amazon:

Personally, I'm a woman who's led what could be described as a dual life.
>From almost my first thought of reproduction and marriage, I knew I never
wanted children. Ever! How horrible a thought! However, I'm extremely
sexual and unfortunately attract too many men -- who wants children! I've
always hated my periods. Complete waste of time. WHAT is the purpose of
going through this shit when my world is in another place and not of this
earthly content? Hey, I'm due for a ticket out...! But here I am, in this
body and still going strong with the monthly deal.

In this whole discussion, the thing that really peeves me is that MEN have
no clue. If they did they wouldn't even broach a discussion on the subject.
One day they will incarnate into a female body -- when they're worthy of
that status -- and then they'll know. There are just a few men on this list
who I know of at this time who have that capacity to incarnate into a
woman's earthly body, and after reading all this...would they want to? ;-)
LOL...
