Mystress, Holly,

I am curious to know how this definition of Karma (which sounds more
like "blockage" with reference to the above text) is related to the
classical/traditional definition of Karma (from the root Kri, "to do")
as the universal law of cause and effect, or action and reaction, or
sowing and reaping. Karma applies to all thoughts, words, and deeds.

Are we talking about the same concept of Karma? Or are these two
separate concepts which just happen to have the same name?

-- [An Aside] --
Recall that there are five sheaths/bodies (Pancha Kosha) around the
Soul/Self (Atman). These are Physical, Energy, Mental, Intellectual,
Bliss (the translations are as close as possible). The sum total of a
person's Karma is stored/recorded in the higher bodies. As
circumstances and situations become available and amenable the abstract
Karma in the higher bodies is brought down to be experienced in ones
life. Depending on one's attitude and behaviour, the Karmas that are
experienced could be reduced or eliminated, or indeed new Karmas could
be created. The obligations on any Karmas may be discharged in the
short term, long term, or even in one of the next lives. One cannot
"escape" from the Law of Karma.
-- [End Aside] --

Note that all five bodies can have "blockages" and there are various
techniques to clear such blockages, and also to correct any other type
of flow problems (eg too little, too much, erratic, etc). However, I
think this is a separate concept with respect to Karma.
