Hello,

There is subtle clarification which may be useful to some people. I
will keep this brief unless more explanation is required (by request).

The idea is to resolve all types of karmas in order to progress towards
liberation. Good karmas are usually welcomed but bad karmas tend to be
avoided. However, all the karmas that are specifically relevant to you
need to be experienced and therefore resolved/eliminated. The
difficulty lies in knowing exactly what needs to be done. For example
if a karma was represented as $10, but we don't know the actual amount,
we may try to work on a basis of about $8 or about $12. In the first
case, the karma is not resolved/eliminated and in the second case an
extra karma is in fact created.

Therefore, the meaning of the text from Daniel should be taken to help
you to eliminate karmas, and not to create new ones. My teacher once
told me something similar, more than 20 years ago, and I misunderstood
it as giving "poetic license". However my grand-teacher later provided
more information as follows regarding (good and bad) karma:

Whatever comes to you by its own nature is like milk
Whatever you have to ask for is like water
Whatever you force/extract from others is like blood
This is the statement of the ancient masters

and

This body is like a field
Mind, speech, action are the farmers
Sin and virtue are the two types of seeds
Herein lies your path to liberation

Although I have translated the above from the Hindi version of the
poems, I believe the essential message has been preserved. What is
missing is the beautiful rhyme and meter of the original poetry.
