Katie, and K-List,
Yes, regarding Kundalini, the best advice is to "just let it happen". It is a Natural process. However, it is possible to guide or control the symptoms and activities to some extent. In some instances I have started Kundalini activity manually, but then after a while the automatic process takes over. In other instances, such as in public, I have been able to calm down Kundalini activity to avoid distracting other people.
However, in case of problems or complications the following resources may be useful:

In a very severe case you might try:

For an alternative view see:

In my personal experience, the best method for managing the Kundalini development process is Yoga Asanas/Exercises, Pranayama/Breathing, Mudras/Gestures, Bandhas/Locks, Kriya/Cleansing, etc. This will balance the energies. Good preparation (healthy/strong body, mind, ethics, etc) is essential for successful Kundalini development.
Bhavin.

I will also inquire if anyone has information about this and perhaps how to control it or if it is something to be controlled or to just go with it... -Katie
