Niklas,

Kundalini development is a long process, measured in terms of years,
decades, and lifetimes. In general, it cannot be forced nor can it be
stopped. The best advice is to "just let it happen". In my experience
there is a small margin, from 0% to 10% depending on the particular
situation, wherein one can guide or control the symptoms and activities
to some extent. Kundalini development can be carefully cultivated
(consciously and unconsciously) by Yoga and other Systems. It is a
Natural process.

Since you did not specifically ask for Kundalini nor actively seek
Kundalini, and yet the Kundalini development process has started, you
will get good results due to your steady and continued practice of Yoga.
This is very similar to my situation.

I get Kundalini activity several times a day. . This includes Asanas,
Pranayamas, Mudras, Kriyas, Bandhas and various types of meditation
events. Sometimes I specifically start Kundalini activity via known
triggers, such as Yoga. An unusual trigger recently has been Trance Goa
music -- strange but true!!! At other times during my daily life
Kundalini activities just automatically manifest themselves. It has
even happened once in public at a Hindu temple, probably triggered by
the Music and Mantras, and the traditional images including Shiva the
Lord of Yoga. The event was embarrassing for my wife and two sons, due
to the distraction/attention, but curiously not for me since I regarded
it as a natural event.

Sometimes the Kundalini process for me is a wild trashing or shaking
motion with the arms (like the movements of a high power electricity
cable that has been cut, or a free hosepipe with the water on full
force), often with the hands in Mudra, in a sitting or standing
position. I have seen similar positions in temples. Sometimes there is
a need to "dance" and the result is some fusion of a variety of world
dance traditions. (I cannot dance outside the domain of Kundalini
experiences.) At other times there is no motion at all and a great
sense of peace and bliss. The process is extremely varied between
people and even within the same individual at different times, places,
etc. It can be distinguished from a medical problem in several ways but
primarily because the symptoms do no last outside the realm of the
Kundalini activity period, and also because one is usually fully aware
(although not consciously performing the activity).

I found the following two free HTML books very helpful for information
on Kundalini. The former is in the Indian Yogic tradition. The latter
is in the US/Western medical tradition. One or both may be useful.

"KUNDALINI YOGA" by Sri Swami Sivananda

"KUNDALINI - PSYCHOSIS OR TRANSCENDENCE?" by Lee Sannella, MD
http://www.skaggs-island.org/humanistic/sannella/kundalini.html

The classical texts regarding Kundalini are all true and valid.
However, until one experiences Kundalini first hand, it is difficult to
understand and appreciate the Kundalini development process.

You may be interested to know that even the process of reading your post
activated several minutes of sympathetic Kundalini activity.
