please discontinue with these off-topic posts already, and take them
somewhere else...

these guidelines were recently questioned and put up for a vote... and the
list members practically unanimously decided to keep the guidelines...

please don't feel that your own off-topic post is somehow one that is worth
being the exception to the rule...

thanks for bearing with this moderatorish message... it is not fun being a
moderator and reminding folks of these guidelines... but some of us
volunteered to do it, and are living up to the commitment...
