No. But one can't legislate respect, no matter how well-stated the rule.
Folks, I don't think the old rule was too hard. Sure, even I have bent it once
or twice, and got told about it. I don't understand what was ambiguous or
unenforceable about it.

Respected, yes. Enforced? Yes, within reason.

Absolutely. And this should also be a reminder to list members not to get
freaked out or take offense if the do receive a reminder. Let's try not to be
too tender-hearted about it.

Banishing for content that is deliberately cruel, hateful, and disruptive, yes.

Bandwidth is not a concern. Signal-to-noise ratio is.

I would rather we did not allow attachments to the list, for virus control
reasons more than any other. I also hate getting attachments in list mail.

Likewise HTML or active content in my email. Bullshit. Send me text. I like
text. Content over form.
