here is my OPINION, and my VOTE:

> 1) Should the guidelines be loosened enough to become a free for all of
silly jokes, forwarded lucky charms, funny pictures, attachment files,
political petitions and whatever else any member feels like sharing in the
moment?

no... i feel thias guideline is very useful, and that i would not read every
post the way i do now if all that kind of stuff came through...

> 2) Should the guideline be respected and enforced, to stick to the topic
of kundalini and related member experiences?

yes...

> 2a) Would you be willing to help remind members who stray off topic by
posting to them privately?

yes, occasionally.. (and i think such reminders should be cc'd to a
moderator address to keep track of folks who consistenly ignore the
reminders)... i really don't want to do this, but i think it's
irresponsible to leave this to be the job of Mystress, Hillary and whatever
other moderators currently send such reminders...

> 3) Should another list be created, for the jokers and people who want to
look at forwarded jokes and attachments.

i really don't care... it seems that the internet is full of such places...
but if someone wants to set one up, then sure, why not?

> 3a)... and people who post such stuff repeatedly, be banished there?

i think they should be put on moderated status.... which means their posts
would have to wait until a moderator has the time to decide if their post
should go through, or get deleted... i would volunteer for this type of
moderator duty...

> 4) Is bandwidth a concern for you? Do you care if the list traffic grows
because of off topic content?

yes... i don't want that extra list traffic from these things (see question
1)...

> 5) Are attachments a concern for you? Bear in mind that a list that allows
attachments is vulnerable to the spread of viruses. Allow them or not?

i find them unecessary, so i don't see any reason to allow them... anything
worthwhile can be cut and pasted into the main portion of an email...

> 6) Is styled text a problem for you?

i dislike it.. but it is not a problem for me personally... but if they mess
up the digests, i say it's fine to make it unacceptable here...

> 7) There are legal considerations to this guideline. Copyright
regulations. What is posted to the list ends up in the archives, making me,
the website owner, the one responsible for the members copyright
infringement. Therefore, I must make an executive decision: long quotes from
books and websites, and similarly copyrighted material *still* cannot be
posted to the list. That aspect of the guideline is not open for debate.

i completely understand and respect that...

warmly,
